Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford, an American actress and singer. Her first appearances on Broadway include in the productions Wicked Legally Blonde and Hair. In You Can't Take It With You in which she was awarded the Tony Award as Best Featured actor in a Play. Annaleigh Ashford, a Tony Award-winning actor and director, has spent the majority of her career working with famous directors and actors both in film and on television. Ashford's upcoming project is an exclusive Hulu show called Welcome to Chippendales, created by Robert Siegel. The show will premiere on the 22nd of November and Ashford plays opposite Kumail Najiani. Ashford is currently in the making of Searchlight Pictures' terror thriller Dust which also features Sarah Paulson. The film will be aired on Disney DTC as an Hulu Original. In March of 2023 Ashford returns to Broadway and star opposite Josh Groban in the revival of Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre. Thomas Kail, director and producer of Hamilton will direct the production. Ashford was Paula Jones most recently in Ryan Murphy's FX's American Crime Story Impeachment, inspired by the scandal that involved Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky Linda Tripp in the national security crisis. Ashford starred for two seasons on the CBS hit comedy B Positive. Also, she was a part of the cult series, created by Marco Pennette Chuck Lorre, which featured legendary actors Linda Lavin Hector Elizondo Ben Vereen. A veteran of Broadway Ashford has been awarded both the Tony Drama Desk Award and the Outer Critics Circle Awards with her performance as Essie. Sunday in the Park starring George Wicked and Legally Blonde is among her other Broadway performances. Ashford was raised and born in Denver and currently splits the time in Los Angeles, and New York.
